Strategy

Ruthie has been really clingy lately.

The other day I was sitting at the computer, and Ruthie brought me my high heels and insisted I put them on right away.

Then she climbed up on my lap and immediately fell asleep on my chest.

So I was left with a dilemma. Leave her there and be chair bound for 1-3 hours... Or try to take her upstairs and put her down without breaking an ankle, or neck. Or even worse, waking her up!

I did manage to get her up to bed without waking her up or breaking anything, but it was tricky! It was a smart strategy on her part, I must say!

At the Bonfire

Gideon: "Mommy, can I have a SCARY marshmallow?"

That Must Be Why He's So Sweet!

Judith and Gideon were jumping on Grandma's trampoline when they unexpectedly collided.

Gideon (hurt): "Judie break Gideon! You break the chocolate Gideon!!!"

Infatuation

Gideon had a blast pretending to drive Great Grandpa's old tractor. As he got down off of it, he stopped to admire the big back tire.

Gideon: "Oh tire, you is so beautiful!"

Ok

Me: "Hey, Gideon, do you want some corn on the cob?"

Gideon: "No, I want some corn on the cottage!"

Words of Wisdom

While on a hike at a large Provincial park, there was a pile of logs we passed by.

Judith: "You know, all logs lead to lions!"

I never knew!

At the Lake

Judith wanted to swim out to the raft, so she just ran and dove into the water, while I followed her slowly, because the water was a little cool for me.

Judith: "Come on, Mom!"

Me: "Hold on, I just need to get used to the water."

Judith: "But I have been used to the water for YEARS!"

She's a Keener

Ruthie was about 3/4 of the way through watching Finding Nemo, and all of a sudden she excitedly pointed and screamed "Fishes!!!!"

Um, yes, there are fishes honey.
