At the Lake

Judith wanted to swim out to the raft, so she just ran and dove into the water, while I followed her slowly, because the water was a little cool for me.

Judith: "Come on, Mom!"

Me: "Hold on, I just need to get used to the water."

Judith: "But I have been used to the water for YEARS!"

She's a Keener

Ruthie was about 3/4 of the way through watching Finding Nemo, and all of a sudden she excitedly pointed and screamed "Fishes!!!!"

Um, yes, there are fishes honey.

Blast Off!

I just came downstairs and Gideon was strapping Ruthie into a suitcase (she was happily complying). He looked at me and excitedly said "We're going to outer space!!!"

Me: "Gideon, you can't take your potato downstairs, eat it at the table, please."

Gideon: "NO!" *angry face* *points finger* "GO TALK TO DADDY!!!"

Me: "Um, nice try."

Judith: "Mom, can you get my ball?"

Me: "Yeah, just a sec."

Judith: "MOM! You're breaking my heart!"

She Figured Out Their Secret!

Judith (in line at Starbucks): "Wow, they make the drinks really fast, don't they?"

Me: "Yep."

Judith: "It must be because they don't have kids!"
